Mostafa Khodeir, is a 24-year-old artist from Port Saeed in Cairo, Egypt. His father is a well-known calligrapher in the Arabic world, but the young artist has perfected a unique technique.
He uses a pencil to lay the foundations to his drawings and then brings to life photo-realistic portraits of celebrities and ordinary people with only a ballpoint pen. He also uses color pencils to draw the portraits.
Mostafa spends between 60-70 hours on each drawing, carefully depicting facial features and skin colors. He says that this form of drawing requires a deep knowledge in shades and needs patience and focus because any small mistake may ruin the whole work. Here are 15 hyper-realistic drawings that are created by him using only a ball pen and color pencils.
